Plants hemoglobin represent one of the defying subjects in biology which alludes to common origins of biological life .. \
Three-dimensional structure studies of such molecules are promising tools to help acquire deep understanding of their biological function in plants and relation with animal life.\

Not only rice, many other plants uses hemoglobin such legumes. It primarily resides in the plants roots though with much less quantity compared to blood .. thus it doesn't effect the overall colour of the plants except the root notably in legumes.
